Description
H. pylori Profile
Helicobacter pylori infects approximately 50% of the global population and is the primary cause of peptic ulcers, chronic gastritis, and the most common preventable risk factor for gastric cancer. This qPCR stool test not only detects H. pylori with exceptional sensitivity and specificity, but also identifies its key virulence factors — providing critical clinical information for risk stratification and treatment planning.
What Is Tested:
- H. pylori detection — quantitative qPCR (highly sensitive, non-invasive)
- CagA (Cytotoxin-Associated Gene A) — the most virulent H. pylori factor; CagA-positive strains carry significantly higher risk of peptic ulcers and gastric cancer
- VacA (Vacuolating Cytotoxin A) — causes gastric epithelial damage; different alleles (s1/s2, m1/m2) indicate varying pathogenicity
- OipA (Outer Inflammatory Protein A) — promotes gastric inflammation and ulceration
- DupA (Duodenal Ulcer Promoting Gene) — associated with duodenal ulcer risk
Sample Type:
Stool — single collection.
